How do I update my banking details?

You inform the Fund that you have changed your banking details in writing and attach the current banking statement.
What is a COE?

This is a certificate that proves that a pensioner is still alive.
What happens if I don’t provide a COE?

If you do not submit your COE, the pension is submitted and will be back dated when you submit the certificate.

3. Retirement Benefits FAQ

When may I retire?

You may retire:

At 60 years of age (Normal Retirement)
At 55 years of age or 50 years if you are a female member who commenced to participate under the Fund before the 1St of July 1976 (Early Retirement)
At any age due to ill-health, if in the opinion of your employer, in consultation with the trustees, you have become permanently incapable of efficiently carrying out your duties.
At any age between 60 and 70 years, provided both you and your employer agree (Late retirement)
How will my pension be calculated?

The total pension payable from your retirement date will be equal to the pension that can be provided by your accumulated credit. Accumulated credit is the total of your employee contributions and 5% of employer contributions plus the interest and bonuses as declared from time to time by trustees.
May I take a cash lump sum instead of my pension?

Yes, you may only take a cash lump sum only when the pension calculated falls below the minimum level set by the Commissioner.
For how long will my pension be paid?

Your pension will be payable for as long as you are alive, but for a minimum of five (5) years. In other words if you die within five years of your retirement, your pension will be paid until the end of your five year period.

Which documents are required when claiming my retirement benefits?

a) Ill Health Retirement

Copy of letter of retirement 
Medical report from a medical practitioner
Certified Identification i.e. passport, I.D or Driver’s licence
Current Bank Statement
b) Normal Retirement

Copy of letter of retirement
Certified Identification i.e. passport, I.D or Driver’s licence
Current Bank Statement
c) Late Retirement

Copy of letter of retirement
Certified Identification i.e. passport, I.D or Driver’s licence
Contributions shall continue to be payable beyond the normal retirement date and cease at 70
Current Bank Statement.
